
A delegation from Telangana including A.P. Jitender Reddy, advisor to State Government (Sports); Jayesh Ranjan, special chief secretary, IT and Industries and Soni Bala Devi met with Populous, a global architectural and design firm, and visited visited the Nathan Campus of Griffith University in Australia.

This visit is part of the efforts of the Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to set up a full-fledged Sports University in the State.
Anna Fedeles, general manager for International Operations, Trade and Investment Queensland; Gabrielle Troon, director, South Asia, International Operations, Trade and Investment Queensland, shared their knowledge and information with the delegation.
The delegation met with representatives from Populous, a global architectural and design firm specializing in sports facilities, arenas, and convention centres. The meeting provided insights into modern trends and standards for sports facility design and management, which could help inform Telangana’s sports infrastructure development.
The delegation also visited the Nathan Campus of Griffith University, which offers advanced research and educational programs in sports and has a strong track record of producing Olympic medalists who successfully balance academics and sports. This visit provided valuable insights into systems, programs, and facilities that support high-performance sports and education.
The University of Queensland, one of Australia’s leading universities, has a strong focus on sports science and innovation. The delegation explored the advanced research facilities, innovation programs, and sports management expertise. Learning from the university’s initiatives is expected to benefit Telangana’s sports development programs.
