However, the State government has denied the request for a 1 a.m. benefit show with enhanced ticket rates for the film.
From January 11 to 19, theatres will be permitted to screen five shows daily for nine days, with multiplexes allowed to charge ₹100 more per ticket and single-screen theatres ₹50 more, both inclusive of GST.
As part of the conditions, all theatres screening Game Changer are required to display advertisements highlighting the dangers of narcotics, drugs, and cybercrime. District Collectors, Magistrates, and Police Licensing Authorities have been instructed to ensure compliance with these measures.
Following the stampede at Sandhya theatre on December 4 during the benefit show of Pushpa 2, where a woman was killed and her son was critically injured, Minister for Roads and Buildings and Cinematography Komatireddy Venkata Reddy announced on December 21, 2024 in the Assembly that the state government would no longer permit benefit shows of films unless they were focused on social issues or patriotism.
The Minister said that film stars should follow rules and stay away from road shows when the police deny permission. He added that the government will encourage the film industry and promote it through incentives.
