Speed up construction of access road, GIDA, district administration told

The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has directed the Goshree Islands Development Authority (GIDA) and the Ernakulam district administration to complete the construction of the 350-metre access road of the Moolampilly-Pizhala bridge by March 31.

SHRC Chairman Alexander Thomas further directed the GIDA secretary and the District Collector to submit a report on the same. The Collector must also convene a meeting of the officials concerned every two weeks to address the commuting woes of Pizhala residents.

The panel issued the directive on a complaint by O.G. Sebastian, a resident of Pizhala.
