Mr. Modi will attend a VVIP summit dinner on the evening of February 10. The AI Action summit is scheduled for the morning of February 11, as per diplomatic sources.
The bilateral component of the visit will begin in the second half of February 11 with a CEO roundtable chaired by Mr. Modi and Mr. Macron.
Then Mr. Modi will travel South of France to Marseille where India is set to open a consulate and the bilateral talks are scheduled to take place followed by a private dinner. Mr. Modi’s visit will continue on February 12 as well and later in the day he is set to depart to the U.S. on an official visit.
During the visit, major announcements are expected in defence, Small Modular Reactors (SMR) and aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO). Both sides will also adopt a France-India roadmap on AI, according to diplomatic sources.
Earlier, Mr. Macron in an announcement said, “France will be hosting on February 11-12 the AI Summit, a summit for action. This summit will enable us to have an international discussion on artificial intelligence. PM Modi will be there immediately after his State visit to our country, and this will enable us to have dialogue with all the powers on AI, U.S., China and major nations like India which has a role to play, as well as the Gulf States,”.
