Picnic spots attract large crowds on Kaanum Pongal

The Tropical Butterfly Conservatory at Srirangam attracted a large crowd on Thursday when ‘Kaanum pongal’ was celebrated.

Many visited Mukkombu, a few km away from Tiruchi, enjoying with their families and friends throughout the day. The Tropical Butterfly Conservatory at Srirangam sandwiched between the Cauvery and the Kollidam was another popular hangout spot on Thursday.

Children enjoyed the joy rides and the green environment prevailing inside the conservatory.  Kallanai situated in neighbouring Thanjavur district also saw footfall of visitors during the course of the day.
