It is the land that has taken care of the Agama scripture on palm leaves(Tadpatri), and under the guidance of Prathamacharya Shantisagar Maharaj, it has made a successful journey of the Agama from palm leaves to copper plates.. Acharyshri Deshbhushanji, Acharyashri Vidyanandji, Acharyashri Subalsagarji, Acharyashri Vidyasagarji are from this land. The land that preserves the Jain monastic tradition, devotes its life to the monastic leaders.. Veeracharya Babasaheb Kuchanure was born in Darur in Karnataka… The land of Karnataka that enriches Jain literature and culture..! Karnataka is the land of many Jain leaders and activists who have made valuable contributions to the formation of the Daxin Bharat Jain Sabha. Karnataka is the land that gave strength to the late Raosaheb Patil Dada, who left an indelible mark on the work of the Daxin Bharat Jain Sabha..!

The Sabha was established on 3 April 1899 at Shri Kshetra Stavnidhi in Karnataka. Karnataka’s contribution to the progress of the Jain community in the last 126 years through the Daxin Bharat Jain Sabha is noteworthy. Of the Sabha’s conventions held so far, more than fifty have been held in Karnataka. Among them, the conventions held at Stavnidhi, Belgaum, Kothali-Kupanwadi, Hubli, Davangere, Akkol, Shirguppi, Belladbagewadi, Bedkihal, Terdal, Halge, Nipani, Jamkhandi, Shamnewadi, Borgaon, Bhoj and Ugar can be mentioned. Many decisions have been taken in the interest of the Jain community in these conventions.

The 103rd session of the Daxin Bharat Jain Sabha is being held at Harugeri in Karnataka on 20th and 21st July 2025 under the presidentship of Hon. Bhalchandra Patil. The welcome address is by Uttam Patil. Let us get to know the Harugeri city on this occasion.

Harugeri is in Belgaum division and is 113 km north. It is 21 km from Raibagh and 567 km from the state capital Bangalore and about 14 km from the flowing Krishna river.

It covers an area of over 110 square kilometres (42 sq miles), two-thirds of which is irrigated by the Ghatprabha Project. Agriculture is the main occupation. Sugarcane, maize, turmeric, grapes and wheat are the main crops.
